A Sampling Of Helpful Motion Picture Plot Lines To Check Out

By Patti Blankenship

It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Let's look at what you might find to watch using a movie download site.

Jurassic Park: Billionaire Attenborough asks paleontologists Dem and Neill, and mathematician Goldblum to examine his island entertainment park, populated with living dinosaurs. He even has his grandchildren tag along, peacefully skeptical that anything might go awry. Slam-bang thriller is loaded with action, anticipation, hair-raising chills, and landmark visual effects: the dinosaurs appear real. It won three Oscars, for Graphic Outcomes, Noise, and Noise Outcomes Revising. Cast includes Sam Neill, Laura Dem, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, Bob Poke, Ariana Richards, Samuel L. Jackson, and Wayne Horseman. (126 minutes, 1993)

Swordfish: Gabriel Shear, Swordfish, knows where there is a lot of money. The problem is that it is in cyberspace. To steal it, he kidnaps former super hacker Stanley Jobson. He then pressures Stanley to comply, or suffer consequences.

The Abandoned: An American adoptee gets caught up in an endless maze of terror while, after getting a bizarre invitation, she goes back to Russia to find out where here roots are. In her dark and scary childhood home, she is tested by untold evil powers and troubling mysteries from her past. This film is a European throwback, in the horror genre. Anastasia Hille, Karel Roden, Valentin Ganev, and Carlos Reig-Plaza are the main cast Nacho Cerda directs (2007 Horror)

A Fan's Notes: Bewildered, football-infatuated author becomes disenchanted with the Incredible American Fantasy of prosperity and compliance, and ends up in an insane asylum. A poor rendition of Frederick Exley's highly considered novel. Cast includes Jerry Orbach, Burgess Meredith, Patricia Collins, Julia Ann Robinson, and Rosemary Murphy. (100 minutes, 1972)

Eragon: Eragon is a poor young boy trying to help keep his family fed. When he finds a shiny blue stone he thinks it might bring food to the tables. The stone turns out to be an egg, a dragon egg. Eragon and this dragon were destined to be together. Now they will go on great adventures together.

Bug: Earthquake discharges a sickening assortment of beetle from the world, adept at setting individuals, animals, and objects on fire. Spray your set with bug spray after observing this one. Generated and co-written by William Castle, whose last film this was. Cast includes Bradford Dillman, Joanna Miles, Richard Gilliland, Jamie Smith Jackson, Alan Fudge, Patty McCormack, and Jesse Vint. (100 minutes, 1975)

I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry: Larry and Chuck are top notch fire fighters and best friends. When Larry fails to change the beneficiaries on his life insurance policy after the unfortunate death of his wife, the only way he can make sure his children benefit if he dies is to remarry. There is no woman he can trust with his kids, so he comes up with the idea of marrying his best friend Chuck.

Navy Seals: Navy Seals go into the Mid-East to rescue captured US pilots. During this successful rescue, the Seals observe that the enemy terrorist have Stinger missiles in their possession. With no time to destroy the missiles, they leave them behind and complete the rescue mission. We need to recover these weapons before terrorists have the chance to use them.

Jury of One: Trudging melodrama in reference to a lady who goes to shocking extremes to defend her child who is on trial for murder and rape. Gabin plays the magistrate. Cast includes Sophia Loren, Jean Gabin, Henri Garcin, Julien Bertheau, and Michel Albertini. (97 minutes, 1974)

Okay, if you're looking for downloads, try phrases like "Movie File Sharing". A change in the phrase will sometimes get a better result. Make another attempt with "Download Music And Movies". - 23806

Xbox 360: Top Six Picks

By Taylor H. Thomas

The Xbox 360 is the pioneer of the seventh generation consoles to come from the three main manufacturers of video games. As such, it carries more games than the other two, with some estimates going as high as a thousand. This will mean that searching for the right games that will give value for your money can be a tricky affair, especially as each game costs a flat rate of $60 no matter its quality. Fortunately, you can just purchase these top six Xbox 360 games, which have been judged as such by both critics and consumers, instead of relying on attractive packages.

1) Successor to the highly-rated Oblivion, Fallout 3 has gained many positive reviews. Set sometime after World War II, it combines the best three elements of a classic action game: fast-paced gameplay, realistic perspective, and intelligent survival in a harsh, post-apocalyptic setting. Don't worry if you haven't played the other two games in the series. Including a gripping storyline and amazing graphics, Fallout 3 is a game anyone could enjoy playing.

2) Next on the list is Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and the Damned, a trailblazing game and the first in the GTA series to offer an online multiplayer mod with 15 different games to chose from. The visuals for Liberty City, along with a detailed story-line and large cast of characters have earned it several "Game of the Year" awards. Many new features have been added, such as new cars, weapons, and story lines.

3) Dead Space has been called the "World's Scariest Game." If you don't mind horror stories or gore, then this is the game for you. If you're scared of the dark or made ill by the sight of blood then you might want to move on to the next game. But Dead Space offers state-of-the art graphics and effects, and audio that will make you jump right out of your seat. But more than just violence, it also requires you to think, offering puzzles that will challenge even the most clever player, and a tragic, tangled story that won't leave you disappointed at the end.

4) If you're looking for a third-person shooter that is challenging and without the horror, than gear up for Gears of War 2. Multiplayer options allow you to form teams ranging from 2 to 10 players, and with many improvements to gameplay and visuals, this game has truly earned its awards, including "Best Xbox 360 Game of 2008." That alone should be reason enough to go out and buy it.

5) If you haven't heard of Halo 3 and Master Chief already, then you don't know what you've been missing. Part three of the internationally award-winning series, Halo 3 stands on its own. Three features of note: The multiplayer map lineup, the ability to save your films, and the Forge level editor. And don't forget the advanced AI! For veteran players and new players, Halo 3 is a must have for anyone who loves games.

6) For those who worry that this list is all about shooting, killing, and violence, I give you The Beatles: Rock Band. It has received raves for its visual and audios, and some people say that playing it is an almost 'surreal experience.' Not only do you get to play 45 of the Beatles famous songs, but you can play with the Beatles, themselves. And don't forget to try the multiplayer option on this game, either. Your friends will thank you.

There are so many other good Xbox 360 games out there, many worth playing. Just be careful to read all the reviews, and pay attention to notes about bugs or patches. But with so many games to chose from, you should have no trouble finding your own top six picks. - 23806

A Few Useful Film Synopses To Go Over

By Nina Mccullough

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. These days you can stay at home and get movies from a movie download site. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site.

Sugar Town : Entertaining mosaic of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives dovetail: a musician wannabe who'll do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone lady who allures the incorrect men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up '80s stone megastars, to name a few. Tiny, made on a shoestring, although acute and well recognized; excellent cast contains a number of genuine-life musicians. Cast includes Supporter Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp. (92 minutes, 1999)

See you in the Morning: Bridges and Krige follow a difficult journey to a second matrimony for both of them, trying to delete poor memories and lingering complications and having to triumph over each other's youngsters. Overall knowledge, warmth, and gentility are expressed in this relationship film. Cast includes Jeff Bridges, Alice Krige, Farrah Fawcett, Linda Lavin, Drew Barrymore, and Robin Bartlett. (119 minutes, 1989)

Peter Pan Return To Neverland: An animated family film of a Peter Pan adventure. Wendy's daughter Jane is an unbeliever. When Captain Hook steals her away to Neverland, she must learn to believe if she wants to escape back to the real world.

Twins: Products of an experiment to make the perfect child, Julius and Vincent are virtual opposites. Amazingly, they are actually twin brothers, separated at birth. The two finally find each other, and go on a quest to find their real mother

Mac and Me: Sort of an E.T. copy in reference to Mac, an outer space being, and his plight in suburban L.A. It is more of a television advertisement than a film. There's a production number set in a McDonald's, and the alien lives on Coca-Cola. Cast includes Christine Ebersole, Jonathan Ward, Katrina Caspary, Lauren Stanley, and Jade Calegory. (93 minutes, 1988)

Batman and Robin: The villain Mr. Freeze is trying to take over Gotham City, by freezing the town into submission. With the beautiful villain Poison Ivy trying to form a rift between Batman and Robin, the duo has a lot to deal with. As always they somehow find a way to come out on top.

Cherry 2000: Post-Mad Max venture in regards to a lady mercenary employed to bust into a 21st century android warehouse run by maniacs in what used to be the American Southwest. The film is a tad more fun than its restricted theatrical discharge may lead you to believe. Cast includes Melanie Griffith, Ben Johnson, Harry Carey, Jr., David Andrews, Tim Thomerson, Pamela Gidley, and Jennifer Mayo. (93 minutes, 1988)

Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip: Pryor on Africa, sex, lawyers, his spouse, sex, Italian mobsters, more sex, and freebasing. Some of it's ludicrous, some isn't, however the audience is always shown tripled over with laughter. (82 minutes, 1982)

Agent Cody Banks: That adolescent spy is back for a U.K. venture, with Anderson all too evidently shoehorned into the cases for comedy alleviation as his watchdog. Muniz and Kelly are game. See if "Film Rental" gets you to a good download site. Not all searches get the right result. If the first one fails to work out try another one. Switch to "Download Music And Movies" and see if you find what you are looking for. - 23806
