Why Spiderman Is So Popular

By Al Rokest

Few superheroes can hold the attention of audiences the way Spiderman does. Comic book stories, and superhero's are in the height of their popularity, and Spider-Man has been one of the most influential figures of the genre. Spider-Man's popularity can be attributed to his transformation from "average Joe", Peter Parker, to the crime fighting superhero, Spiderman.

Peter Parker was an ordinary kid, until his parents were killed, effectively making him an orphan. He would go on to live with his aunt and uncle, who would raise them as if he were their own.

The fact that Peter Parker was an orphan growing up, establishes a sense of pity for the character. Fans can't help but cheer on Spider-Man, due to his tragic upbringing.

Peter Parker's transformation to Spider-Man came in the form of a spider bite. This hits home to fans, getting a spider bite is a very common occurrence that anyone can relate too; spiders are also a fear for many people.

Showing the way Peter got his super powers makes him connect with the audience. What disconnects audience are different superheroes who have cool powers, but nobody knows how they got it. And because you never know about their personalities, you cannot connect with them.

Spider-Man is a fascinating character to watch and really think about. His super powers are very desirable, and a common answer to the question "If you had a super power, what would it be?" He has the ability and agility to jump incredibly high, and climb walls. He can also swing from structure to structure with his web-spitting.

One of the more important powers that spiderman possesses is not his agility, even though that helps a whole lot. What I am talking about is his spider senses. Everytime danger is nearby, Peter Parker gets an internal alert that makes him aware of his surroundings.

Peter Parker his boss Jameson makes Parker's life harder than it needs to be. He always wants to have the best pictures of spiderman, but actually hates him. But because the pictures bring in so much money for the company, he constantly wants new ones.

Finally, Spider-Man has a number of different of intriguing enemies. The Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Dr. Octopus, and of course Venom, make up some of the most popular antagonists in the comic book world. These "bad guys", and their opposition to Spiderman, help to make Spider-Man, one of the most popular superheroes out there. - 23806

Some Great Suggestions For An Awesome Film To Enjoy Today

By Hillary Moon

A further factor for a movie download service is a extensive variety of motion pictures to select from. You should be able to get any movie that has been released on video. New releases that are still at the theater are not available on the legal sites but that is the same as the typical video store or subscription service. The selection at a good movie download site should essentially be better than your area video store though because computer files cannot take up actual space. Many good websites also provide music and games.

Choose from the critiques below and download a fantastic motion picture to view tonight.

Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout film. He plays a Chicago Cop who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to cause havoc on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone.

Scooby Doo and Company Personal Bank Checks

By Alan Plastin

Most people grew up watching Scooby Doo and his band of mystery-solving friends. Scooby and Company has been solving mysteries and uncovering the truth long before the Scully and Mulder came onto the scene. If you are a fan of Scooby and the gang, and you want a way to spruce up your checks, then you might want to think about purchasing Scooby Doo checks.

Scooby Doo has been a popular cartoon character since 1969. Although is various cartoons have gone through different versions since the first "Scooby Doo, Where Are You?", he is still as beloved today as he ever was.

Together with Velma, Fred, Daphne, and his best friend, Shaggy, Scooby and his pals solved mysteries and chased ghosts. Of course, most of the time the ghosts turned out to be people who were trying to extort someone for money or take advantage of someone for their own needs. It was generally a character that we had already been introduced to.

The Scooby Doo cartoon came about in order to get away from more violent cartoons like Johnny Quest. Scooby Doo was based on a combination og the popular series "The Many Loves of Doby Gillis" and radio serials "I Love a Mystery." The Scooby Doo characters are also loosely based on the Doby Gillis characters as well. Scooby's name was inspired by Frank Sinatra's scat in "Strangers in the Night." At first, his name was "Too Much."

If you would like to carry the group around in your wallet, there are several Scooby checks to pick from.

One of the most popular series features Scooby and his crew as they search for clues. Scooby is on all of the checks, of course, but the rest of the gang is featured as well. Scooby wouldn't be anywhere without his friends!

Another check series also features 4 checks, but the Mystery Machine is featured in one of them, as well as Scooby eating some of his famous Scooby Snacks. Scooby wouldn't be complete without some food-even when he is being chased by ghosts.

Matching checkbook covers, address labels, and even contact cards can generally be purchased to match your new checks.

If you didn't purchase unique checks in the past because you didn't like going to the bank, sorting through the checks that were available, and paying a hefty price then you are in luck. Thanks to the Internet, you no longer have to do that anymore. Now, you can order your checks online from a safe website and not only save as much as 50% off of what you might have paid at the bank itself, but also be privy to hundreds of designs.

Simple and plain bank checks are boring and uninspiring. However, giving someone a Scooby Doo check is sure to brighten their day. After all, he is probably the most famous dog in the world! People are nostalgic and most everyone likes to be reminded of their childhood in some form or fashion. - 23806

Happiness is The Only Thing That Matters In the End

By Jamie Brown

This day in age, people are turning to religion in droves. Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism has embedded it's ideology in the hearts and minds of millions globally. While all these religions deserve respect and tolerance, few in the west have a grasp on the complicated concept of Buddhism.

The end all and be all of online encyclopedias, Wikipedia grabs the first slot on a Google search for the term Buddhism and the breakdown reads like this: "Buddhism is a religion and a philosophy encompassing a variety of traditions, beliefs and practices, largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as the Buddha (Pali/Sanskrit "the awakened one"). The Buddha lived and taught in the northeastern Indian subcontinent sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE.

He is recognized by adherents as an awakened teacher who shared his insights to help sentient beings end suffering, achieve nirvana, and escape what is seen as a cycle of suffering and rebirth. Buddhism is traditionally conceived as a path of liberation attained through insight into the ultimate nature of reality. Two major branches of Buddhism are recognized: Theravada ("The School of the Elders") and Mahayana ("The Great Vehicle"). Theravada, the oldest surviving branch, has a widespread following in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, and Mahayana is found throughout East Asia and includes the traditions of Pure Land, Zen, Nichiren Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Shingon, Tendai and Shinnyo-en. In some classifications, a third branch, Vajrayana, is recognized, although many see this as an offshoot of the Mahayana. While Buddhism remains most popular within Asia, both branches are now found throughout the world.

Various sources put the number of Buddhists in the world at between 230 million and 500 million." After living abroad in Asia for several years I have found that Buddhist cultures are more tolerant because the focus is on the 'self' and the meditation on the calming of the mind, concentrating on controlled breathing and the idea that meditation to bring one closer to peace is central to discovering one's self.

If you have the opportunity to investigate the practice of Buddhism, I would highly recommend it. I'm not saying to take up the path and convert to a religion but the calming affect that is central to this religions concept will bring a peaceful serenity to your life that you may find useful. All in all respect and tolerance for all religious perspectives is something that people are beginning to make a conscious effort to practice and understanding ideas from various religions can teach us an appreciation that can bring us all closer together. - 23806
