For those who know Nike's history, Nike is very selective when choosing collaboration projects, not offering numerous opportunities towards athletes, moreover celebrities. However, a new classic has emerged fast since Nike agreed to team up with Kanye West to develop the new Air Yeezy brand.

For sneaker heads of all ages and locations around the world, it would be well known that the Air Yeezy would be a valuable asset to any sneaker collection, thus making it one of today's most sought after trainers. For most who choose to pay the $200+, they actually buy the famous names behind the sneaker: Nike and Kanye West. As for the true sneaker fans, purchasing the sneaker means being a part of all the hype, buying the brand and the quality dedicated to the design aesthetics of the sneaker. Kanye West and Mark Smith (the designer at Nike) have done all they can to ensure the shoe holds to its name and value. Below is a breakdown of the new Air Yeezy.

The Air Yeezy has been released in three colors: Zen Grey/Light Charcoal, Black/Black, and Net/Net. The Zen Grey/Light Charcoal colorway was released April 4th, 2009. The all Black colorway was released May 2nd. And the final colorway, Net/Net, will be released on June 6th 2009. The Colorful History Of The Drum

By Jim Samposzi

The use of the drum goes as far back as our earliest history. People used drums to produce sounds as far back as 6000 B.C. In these old cultures, like the Aztecs, Incas, and Mayas, this instrument was played when they threw parties. Drums were found in many mountains of these ancient lands by archaeologists in later years.

Many believe that it is the main body of the drum that produces the sound. But, this is not the case - it is the stretched out fabric over the top, or the membrane, that is responsible for the beat. The sound is produced when the top of the drum is whacked with a stick of some sort. When the drum is drummed on, the membrane vibrates and noise produced is sent through the hollow of the drum. The Indians actually used real wooden sticks to hit the drum with during rituals and ceremonies.

In the 20th century, this instrument started to be further built upon, and in time, the drum set came to music. A drum set consists of: a tom-tom, cymbals, snare drums, and bass drums (one of which has a foot pedal to produce the sound. Other tone-type instruments like bells, chimes, and wood blocks were included in the arsenal of instruments to produce even more beats to songs. These collections were introduced in the 1930's and by the 1960,s, when rock took form, drum kits such as the ones described above were a necessary component for these bands. You were left in the dust if you were without drums.

Like other instruments, drums became digitized for for production of created beats. Digital beat machines, keyboards, synthesizers, and drum machines provide the ability for someone to make their own drum sounds. These sounds created from synthesizers were unique and not available to be heard from set of drums. For this reason, modern music employed these include these synthesizers in its repertoire of instruments.

Drums were not always used for music. In fact, people of other continents used to use them to communicate with each other. A series of hits would signal a certain sentence or command that others in the tribe would understand. Drums furthermore remained as a symbol of spirit for Indians of the Americas, as well as people all over the world. Most thought of the drum as a male and give them as a gift to teen boys becoming men.

The drum beats bass like instruments of no other kinds. Drums have been beat in many classes of music, for instance: rock and roll, funk, blues, classical music, and much more. Next time you attend a concert of any kind, look on the stage and you might see a drum or arrangement of drums of any type. These instruments are needed for percussion and bass; because of this, drums are adaptable to any music situation and can be included with any kind of music. - 23806

Pieces and Parts Of The Beautiful Cello

By Jim Samposzi

The cello is a child of the group of stringed musical instruments and is played solo, with an orchestra or played as an inclusion in chamber music. The cello is one of the most massive of the strings ; next to the double bass.

This beautiful source of music is also called a little violone - a large Italian string type which is like the violin. The term cello came from the Italian word vioncello which translates to small violin. The cello, is however very alike a violin because it carries notes in C2 and towards middle C. The cello's strings go as far as G2, D3, and A3. The only difference is that the cello reaches one octave lower when tuned properly.

A traditional cello was usually rather stunning and elegant. The other side, neck, and sides are usually lathed in a authentic maple. In addition, the top is usually made with spruce. But, in these centuries, cellos were made by hand. However, today, they are made by a machine, out of lower-quality wood, and sometimes, even aluminum. The cello, by design, is made intricate shapes in the top and side. These detailed designs are known as, purling. These intricate designs are made for decoration. However, after they become fastened to the instrument's body, they become just as important. If a purling is cracked or split, it can run down the body of the cello and damage the whole thing.

An ideal recipe for these instruments today is carbon fiber. These types play wonderfully outdoors and are less susceptible to rain damage. Others prefer these types because the sounds are deeper and mum better. Also, carbon fiber and other metal-made cellos are thought to last a long time and be resistant to splintering, chipping, or splitting.

This beautiful string instrument has other intricate parts like the pegs, holes, and scroll. The carved neck is etched on the top of the instrument and gives way for the scroll and pegs. The peg box is located on top of the carved neck and the fingerboard makes way to the peg box, which tightens the strings and has keys for tuning. The scroll is the swirly end of wood that is located on the top. Scrolls are traditional to cellos and most stringed instruments of this group.

The strings of the cello are usually made of metal or synthetic alloys. Most all cellos available today are stringed with aluminum or titanium. And, chrome is sometimes used as well. As with all other stringed instruments, musicians possess their ideas and preferences on the kind of strings to play with.

The base portion of the cello has strings, a tailpiece, end pin, bridge, and f-shaped holes referred to as f-holes. Then, up above, the bridge contains the strings up above the hole. The f-holes are the f-shaped craters on both sides of the aforementioned metal bridge. The tailpiece straps all the strings tightly on the rest of the stock. Then, even lower, the end pin weights the object for optimum play. - 23806
