By Michael Mickey Charles

If you are looking to start playing the piano and do not wish to hire an instructor, or maybe you are a more advanced player wanting to explore new types of musics, then a piano DVD could just be the answer. Here are 3 of the most popular piano DVD choices that you can get.

10 Easy Lessons! Piano Beginner book, CD and DVD set hosted by Gary Turner

An easy to follow and user friendly introduction to chord and melody playing, this is best for children under 5 who have just begun piano playing. It contains lessons with favorite childhood songs which makes it more fun for young music students. Dr John's- Piano Bundle Pack: Dr John Teaches New Orleans Piano- Volume 1

The lessons in this one have a personal and intimate fell to them and Dr John, One of Big Easy's greatest talents, guides the student to develop his own style. The upcoming Blues artists can master his own licks, rhythms, turnarounds and runs. The DVD is awe-inspiring piano playing. This renowned DVD was reviewed by Time Magazine which said, "just sit back and watch Dr John work his way through the likes of "C.C. The Gibson Guitar Story

By Frank Frederics

Anyone that has just started playing guitar or has been playing for a little (or long) while has probably wanted to have a Gibson guitar if they do not already own one of the many fine models. Over the years, Gibson has made themselves known as a top player in the music and guitar industry and many famous guitarists have been using their guitars exclusively.

Gibson began with their first guitar that they brought out to the world back in 1936, the ES-150. This popular guitar became, at that time, top electric guitars for jazz music for its sound alone. For it's time, it was quite an accomplishment in the music world.

However, it was in 1952 when they released their most well known and popular model, the Les Paul. The first Les Paul solid body electric guitar had a single coil pick up called the P-90 which is part of the reason for the amazing tone that they can produce by a skilled player.

About nine short years later, they came out with another very popular model (best known for being used by AC/DC's guitarist, Angus Young), the SG. Some people say that the SG stood for standard guitar. This guitar has a thinner body than the Les Paul creating a slightly different tone.

After the success of these two guitar releases, Gibson started designing other models which included the Explorer, Flying V, Firebird and others. Just about all of the models of guitars became very successful which says something for the company itself.

With the amount of other guitar companies emerging in the music world, it is amazing to see Gibson staying on the top end of the pack. They have always been committed to making the highest quality instrument that they are able to make. If you do not own one yet, get one or at least try one out! - 23806

What Makes the Xbox 360 Run?

By Larry Moon

In recent years the gaming consoles have become more, and more popular. However, with the rise in demand, you had a rise in price, and the gaming industry has had to become more creative with there games and systems to continue to keep the public's interest. Microsoft was the pioneer of the seventh generation gaming consoles, releasing the Xbox 360, which was the successor to the regular Xbox which sold over 20 million units.

All Xbox 360 editions come with a composite cable so you can plug it in to your regular standard definition television which serves as the minimal requirement. But it is better to have an HDTV with 1080p resolution to play the best games that the Xbox 360 offers in great quality.

Setting up your console the way you want it, is key to its performance. If you are looking to set it up on a HDTV, you will need to get a hybrid component/composite cable which is only provided in the pro and elite versions. But setting it up on your T.V. isn't the only thing that makes the Xbox 360 the most advanced gaming console out there.

Firing up the system is just like firing up any console. All you need is a wired or wireless Xbox 360 controller for inputs and then press the "Power" button to load the menu. The Xbox 360 has its own interface so you don't need a DVD inside the optical drive for it to work. You can browse the contents of the hard disk drive if you have an Elite or Pro system or built-in flash memory if you have the Arcade system. Contents that can be read include pictures, music, video, and any downloaded or installed games.

You can also use the interface to check out things are in any USB storage drives attached or Windows computers connected. Once you place a game disc in, you can immediately play it from there.

This console will take you to the next step in speed as well. The new Xbox 360 will make loading times as quick as possible as well as the frame rates to be a lot smoother. This is all made happen by the new 3.2 GHz clock speed Xenon processor. This is the new age processor, that will make game speeds an unreal standard in the industry. Loading speeds of the game will vary from game to game, depending on how the game takes advantage of the processor itself.

But speed isn't the only thing this console is made up of. The Xbox 360 has the capability of displaying really high-end graphics if the game that you put in, uses it to the fullest extent. Some of the capabilities that this console has are alpha blending, z-buffering, and 4x GSAA.

These two main components work really hard and can heat up the system during prolonged gameplay. Fortunately, the latest Xbox 360s having the Jasper motherboard do not suffer as much heat problems as the older models that usually lead to critical red ring errors. Be sure to take care of the internal components because any abuse to them will drastically lower the performance of your Xbox 360 and in the long run prevent it from working. - 23806

Rascal Flatts: How They Managed to Make a Decade Old Song Into a Hit

By Roberto Johnson

Feel-good songs have a way of making it through not only charts but our hearts as well. A mixture of a great lyric, wonderful melody and perfect vocals, a great feel-good song will instantly grab you the moment you listen to it and stay with you for a very long time. Rascal Flatts did this to me with their version of a 1994 classic called Bless the Broken Road.

I was oblivious to the song, and even Rascal Flatts, four years ago. Then I watched Carrie Underwood performed the song with the country music group in the finale of American Idol '05. The song instantly touched me in some strange way. The sound, message and accompaniment all seemed to enthrall me at that moment.

I am a Carrie Underwood fan so I got hold of a copy of their studio performance. Though the band was still stranger to me, I was beginning to love the song, which I knew the moment I heard it, was a Rascal Flatt hit. I soon was playing it daily on my iPod and laptop. Since then, I've heard about three versions of the song. Though all had different interpretations, they all had the same effect: infectious.

The song was originally written for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1994. After that, three more singers have recorded it but it was Rascal Flatts that made it a huge hit.

Rascal Flatts released the song as part of their 2005 Feels Like Today album. Even though it has been previously recorded several times, the trio's version became a huge hit. It landed at the top spot of the Hot Country Singles and Tracks charts and stayed there for five weeks. It also gave the group a Grammy award for Best Country Song.

The song is packed with high quality lyrical content. Simple, straightforward lyrics plus wonderful musical accompaniment make the song a great listening experience. Add to that its inspiring message of not losing hope. It reassures you that there is something better at the end of a rough, tough, and broken road.

Yes, the lyrics are great and inspiring but I think the tempo of the song can be slowed down a bit to have a more emotional and powerful effect. Rascal Flatts' cover was mid-tempo, which is similar to the original version, and has a feel-good aura because of how Gary sang it.

Rascal Flatts' rendition was similar to the original version. It was mid-tempo. You can also hear a wonderful piano accompaniment that added to the effect of the superb arrangement. Gary LeVox was able to sing every note right and drop every word at the right spot. His vocals were relaxed and packed with emotions. He was on the right key. It was flawless. When the song builds up in the second verse to the chorus, you will really feel how strong the song was. This is enough of a reason for you to start listening to Rascal Flatts. - 23806

Britney Spears Solidifies Her Comeback With Womanizer Single

By Shane Bascome

If you listen to Britney Spears' Womanizer single, you can only have one of these two reactions: either love or hate it. But for this writer, it's definitely not hate--not in a million years.

It has been a while since we have heard from Britney Spears (aside from the news and Internet posts). With the release of Blackout the album, she announced to the world that she is back after couple of years a roller coaster ride in her personal life. She made it official by appearing at the MTV VMAs where she, unfortunately, sucked.

Blackout turned out to be her most unsuccessful album in her career. She then released a track from her upcoming album called Womanizer which seemed to have redeemed her from the mess she made at the MTV Awards. The track contained everything that is Britney Spears: funky, interesting, and catchy. It will make you dance and groove. You will experience last-song-syndrome after listening to it.

Fans will be able to connect to the song easily. The words, penned by Nikesha Briscoe and Rapheal Akinyemi, were relatable. It tells the story of a womanizer who's trying to score but he's been found out and the girl is not giving him a chance to even reach first base. A lot of young girls will connect to this one. The chorus cannot be any catchier: Womanizer, woman-womanizer You're a womanizer Oh womanizer, Oh you're a womanizer baby You, you, you are You, you, you are Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer.

The track has an electro-punk feel. It's something that seems to be becoming a trend in today's hit songs. However, despite the dance-y and pop quality of the song, it seems that they could have done away with the electo-techno-futuristic sound. The song would have done as well if it stayed on the pop-bubble gum genre which Britney Spears is famous for.

But despite that, the song still sounds great. You can't deny the fact that it is a hit. Britney has her elements in the song: nice lyric, phrasing, the distinctive vocals and tempo.

While most artists would like to come out with new and better songs, Britney seemed to have went back to basics with this song. Even though she has had more mature-sounding (technically and creatively) songs like the Madonna collaboration, Womanizer sounded like what she would record during her first two years in the business. However, it was a good decision because it allowed listeners to see and hear the true Britney Spears.

There is really nothing much to say about this single except that it meets our expectations. We expect nothing from Britney Spears but good quality music, and that is what she just gave us with Womanizer. - 23806
