By Mikkel Juul

The common people have always been interested in the way celebrities lead their lives and the hobbies or interests that they pursue. Like their colorful lives their choices and preferences are also temperamental and diverse. Go through any gossip magazine and you are sure to catch a glimpse of any celebrity animatedly chatting over his/her cell. Among these glitterati there are obviously a few who clearly stand out with their distinctive styles.

Danger's T-Mobile Sidekick II is one of the most popular cell phones around and it is endorsed by hot celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie. This phone received lot of attention because of the hacking of this gadget of Paris Hilton, and the confidential contents getting leaked all over the internet. Another handset which has its own niche in the cell phone fraternity is obviously the Blackberry, which is used by influential people inside the White House as well as stars like Naomi Campbell.

Another phone which has been quite popular in the Hollywood circle is the Motorola Razr V3 which was distributed as goodies in the recent Academy Awards. Nokia's 7280 model has also been seen in Jennifer Lopez's video ("Get Right") and was brought by many celebrities at the Award ceremony.

When one talks about celebrities, can Britney Spears be missed out? When she was sent to the rehabilitation centre, one gadget that she always kept by her side was a cell phone. Being as capricious as she is, her frequent changes in cell phones, like the hue of her hair, are not something unknown to the rest of the world. Recently she has swapped more than five different handsets, namely, LG enV, Blackberry 8700c, Sidekick LX and the most recent introduction, a Samsung u740.

IPhone was quite a fad initially among celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, etc. Lohan was very frequently photographed by paparazzi guys with her iPhone but she later seemed to have switched back to her Blackberry. One can cite Blackberry's superior messaging services to be the reason and also the fact that Apple does not really subscribe to the idea of entering into any tie-ups with gifting organizations.

There is often a tie-up between these handset-makers and the gift-companies for the purpose of handing out these gratis products. On many occasions, Palm Treos and Nokia handsets have been distributed at major events like the Venice Film Festival or the World Music Awards.

Tennis heartthrob Maria Sharapova used the extremely hot girly pink-colored MOTORAZR phone and this phone became an instant hit. It was also handed out for free to celebrities for creating buzz for this handset and the associated brand. It has already sold out over a million units. Endorsements which are done by celebrities are extremely beneficial to the manufacturers of the cell phones and for this reason these companies shell out these handsets for free.

Even though most of the celebrities have the freedom to choose any cell phone they would desire to use, few preferences are still maintained in using different cell phones which reflect their different personalities. - 23806

The Beatles Remastered in 2009

By Harold Laurence Quesenberry

The Beatles legendary albums were initially remastered digitally for compact disc in the late'80s at that time mastering digitally was a new art and since then plenty has been learned about how to do it more effectively but most important is the incredible rate in technological advance over the past 20 years.

The many movements forward in technology and all of the information learned of how to best make digital masters have been put to good use with the Beatles remasters of 2009. On September 9, 2009 The Beatles released both The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set and The Beatles in Mono. And both box sets sound wonderful. If you have not yet heard them then I recommend that you hear The Beatles remastered as soon as possible.

Which kind of remastered Beatles should you purchase? Well for me the answer was simply "both of them" but if you have to choose just one you'll most likely want to go with the Beatles in Stereo since it includes all thirteen of their UK studio albums and most listeners will like the stereo mixes more than the mono mixes.

The Beatles Mono Box Set is more for hardcore Beatles lovers who want to hear all of the differences between the mono and stereo mixes (and in some cases they are really quite different) and for those who want to listen to the Fab Four how they originally heard them (this obviously applies to older fans who were there for The Beatles in person back in the 60s.)

On December 8th there will be a 3rd choice: The Beatles USB Memory Stick. This USB flash drive contains the Beatles entire stereo remastered box set in a little stick that fits in the palm of my hand. Isn't that cool? And it contains all of their CDs in two ways; high quality mp3s and better than CD quality 24bit FLAC.

It's the "better than CD quality" thing is what will bring in the audiophiles but for most listeners it is the 320kbps mp3s that'll be played the most. - 23806
