Tours Of Hollywood: A Slice Of Celebrity Life
In our celebrity obsessed society many people would do anything to meet their favorite T. V. Or movie star. Most people, at one time or another, have wondered what celebrities are like in person and how it feels to live their everyday, publicly scrutinized life. Even if you have no designs on becoming a big star yourself one day, it's easy to get caught up in hearing about their high profile lives. If you live in or are visiting the Los Angeles area, one way to get a little glimpse into the stars' daily living and working world is to take one of the many Hollywood star tours.
There are many types of tours you can do, depending on your level of interest and the amount of time you have to spend in the area. There are the basic bus tours that drive around Hollywood and the surrounding areas, such as Beverly Hills and Bel Air pointing out all the historic, infamous or popular places of interest.
One of the most popular tours, of course, is the tour of the stars homes which are offered by many different companies. Each company will offer something a little different, but it's basically also riding through the neighborhoods and having the residences of several famous people pointed out. There was a time long ago when tour-goers could get out of the bus and have their photo opportunities, but city ordinances currently prevent that sort of activity. It could certainly cause traffic congestion, not to mention complaints from residents concerned about safety issues. But the buses do have large windows from which you can take pictures and the ride is usually very leisurely so there is plenty of time to have lingering looks at the many lavish homes.
Next are the Hollywood Studio tours, which can take a bit longer but can be a lot of fun because some of them are quite interactive. For example, on the Universal Studios tour, you get to experience an explosive special effects rehearsal called The Fast and the Furious: Extreme Close-Up.
Studio tours are also a great chance to see what goes on behind the scenes in the creation of movies and T. V. Show. And the bonus is that since you're on a working studio lot, there's a good chance to see some actual stars in action - or at least perhaps walking by on their way to the commissary.
Not interested in the usual Hollywood fare? Looking for something a little different - perhaps more scandalous? Well there's something for you as well!
