Bewitched: Isabelle is a witch, living in the San Fernando Valley, and trying to not use her supernatural powers. She finds herself being wooed by actor Jack Watt to play the role of Samantha the witch in a remake of the old 1960's sitcom Bewitched. What a strange twist of fate.
Midnight Run: An action comedy film with Robert De Niro heading the cast. Mild mannered accountant Jonathan Mardukas has been doing the accounting for the Mafia. He was embezzling money from the mob, and giving it away to worthy causes. He has jumped bail after being arrested for his role with the mob. Now bounty hunter Jack Walsh has him and will be bringing him to LA. He has a few problems to del with. The following people want Mardukas before he gets to LA: the mafia wants him dead, the FBI wants him for questioning, and rival bounty hunters want the bounty. To make things worse Mardukas won't fly. Can Jack overcome the odds and deliver his man in time and collect his $100,000?
Hanky Panky: Blameless designer Crazier is pursued by snoops, cops, etc. Unsurprising, hardly ludicrous comedy-thriller, with Radner miscast as the love interest. The film was meant to be a follow-up to Mix Insane, although Richard Pryor's part was revised for Gilda. You've seen it all before, and more superior. Cast includes Gene Crazier, Gilda Radner, Kathleen Quinlan, Richard Widmark, Robert Prosky, Josef Sommer, and Johnny Sekka. (88 minutes, 1982)
Accattone: Accattone is an unforgiving expose of the lives of the crooks and pimps in the ghettos of Roma. In particular we follow the life of Vittorio Accattone, a pimp whose life is coming unraveled. He becomes a pitiful figure trying to find his way. Franco Citti, Franca Pasut, Roberto Scaringella, and Adele Cambria are the stars. (1961 Foreign-Italian)
