Due to the most recent firmware up-grade on the Blu Ray HD Players, those original criticisms about the unit's audio constraints have been dissolved. Almost overnight, the BD-UP5000 has gone from an imperfect product, to one of the most outstanding Blu Ray HD Players you can get. It has always had a sharp picture, for both Blu Ray and HD DVD, but now handles the newest audio codecs as well.
With all the Blu Ray HD Players on the market, this device is now just about superb! The HQV Reon offers a fantastic improvement from your older DVD movies, and the player supports Blu-Ray and HD-DVD material at its native 1080p 24fps with advanced audio. Due to these advanced features it just can not get any advanced than that!
The price tag on Blu Ray HD Players was around $800 back in 2008, which was a fair price if you did not want to restrict your home movie collection to one side of the DVD war. When HD-DVD lost the war, the Blu Ray HD Players price dropped significantly and became competitively positioned even against basic Blu-ray units.
