Black Narcissus: Visually sumptuous, dramatically charged film, from a Rumer Godden novel. Nuns are trying to develop a mission in a remote Himalayan outpost among difficult visible and spiritual tests. One of the most amazing color films ever made (deserved Oscars for cinematographer Jack Cardiff and Alfred Junge). Scenes in which Sister Better Kerr recollects her prior life was eliminated from the US version. Cast includes Deborah Kerr, David Farrar, Jean Simmons, and Kathleen Byron. (100 minutes, 1999)

Say It Isn't So: Pleasantly un-ambitious Klein falls for the new hairdresser in town Graham only to comprehend, after reciprocally pleasing sensual exercise, that she's his sis. Even the Farrelly Brothers' names in the credits-as creators--couldn't keep this gross-out comedy from flopping. Film is only for those who desire to experience Territory as they've on no account seen or even envisioned before; the impure humor lengthens even to her. Cast includes Heather Graham, Chris Klein, Orlando Jones, Sally Territory, Richard Jenkins, John Rothman, Brent Briscoe, and Sarah Silverman. (96 minutes, 1988)

Defending Your Life : Brooks dies in an automobile crash and finds himself in Judgment City, where Tom is designated to guard his life before a tribunal and, where he falls in love with associate candidate Streep, who's too excellent to be real. Flawed, like most of Brooks' films, although full of ludicrous notions and difficult to loathe. Cast includes Albert Brooks, Meryl Streep, Tear Tom, Lee Permit, Buck Henry, George D. Wallace, and Ethan Randall Embry. (101 minutes, 1991)

Jackass: he Movie: Johnny Knoxville takes his act to the big screen. There's nothing new here, just a movie like the TV show. It's a bunch of guys doing stupid and dangerous stuff, being the jackasses that they are.

Lunch Wagon Girls: Ball turns investigator in this melodrama, confronts weird characters and harrowing experiences when tracking killer; pretty excellent, with top cast. Cast includes Lucille Ball, Charles Coburn, Alan Mowbray, Cedric Hardwicke, Boris Karloff, and George Zucco. (95 minutes, 1968)

Pirates of The Caribbean; Dead Man's Chest: With the curse of the Black Pearl lifted all would seem well for Jack Sparrow and his crew. The problem is now Jack owes a blood debt to old Davy Jones. As the adventures continue, Jack must figure a way out of his debt, or he must serve Jones for eternity.

Alive and Kicking: Martin Sherman producer of the play Curved inscribed this feeling tirade in reference to a self-involved gay dancer Fleming who declines to let the truth that he is beset. He additionally gets to be romantically engaged with a therapist Sherry who treats HIV-positive subjects. The scenario might be recognizable, although it is incredibly well performed, and the planet of dance is pleasantly rendered. Cast includes Jason Fleming, Antony Sher, Dorothy Tutin, Anthony Higgins, Bill Nigby, Philip Voss, and Diane Parish. (98 minutes, 1997)

The Man in the Glass Booth: American Film Theatre rendition of Robert Shaw's play in reference to a glib Jewish industrialist carried to trial for Nazi battle offenses. Schell is excellent, however overall consequence is contrived. Shaw had his name expelled from credits of film. Cast includes Maximilian Schell, Lois Nettleton, Luther Adler, Lawrence Pressman, Henry Brown, and Richard Rasof. (117 minutes, 1975)

Rich and Famous: Jumbled redo of Old Companion, with Bisset and Bergen as ladies who sustain a stormy kinship for more than twenty years, regardless of rivalries in love and occupation. Idiotic discussion and Bisset's sensual ruminations offers a vital check out the Stalin epoch, although the outcome weighs down into a talkfest, and is much too evident and uninteresting. Cast includes Jacqueline Bisset, Candice Bergen, David Selby, Hart Bochner, Steven Hill, Meg Ryan, Matt Lattanzi, and Michael Brandon. (117 minutes, 1981)
