Supreme Ranking Box Office Triumph At The Movies

By Lloyd P Perkins

Box office victory will not of necessity tell you if you will enjoy a show. Everyone has diverse tastes and opinions, however, the films that have the uppermost success rate at the box office are the ones that have reached the most people and these movies have achieved the most achievement in the real world.

The show with the highest box office victory made quite a bit less money than the supreme earning motion picture. That is because the most triumphant movie of all times came out clear back in the year 1939. Still, when adjusted for inflation this movie far surpassed the movie that made the most cold-hard cash.

However, with an adjustment for the inflation of the past 70 years the best-selling film of all time is "Gone with the Wind" starring Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. After the inflation correction this movie has taken in $1.45 billion.

The record gross earning film, meaning the one that brought in the most cash in history is "Titanic" at $922 million. However, when all of the movies are adjusted for inflation and time, "Titanic" actually comes in at a respectable but by no means at the very top, at number 6.

The remaining top five are "Star Wars" at number 2, "The Sound of Music" at number 3. E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial is at the number 4 place and "The Ten Commandments" is at number 5.

The rest of the top 10 are "Titanic" of course, at number 6, the summer chartbuster that scared each one, "Jaws" at number 7, "Dr. Zhivago" at number 8. The only horror movie to make the list of the top 25 comes in at number 9, "The Exorcist" and Disney comes in at the number 10 spot with another movie from the year 1939, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".

In the top 25 movies, both Disney and George Lucas' "Star Wars" movies have fared well. "Fantasia", "101 Dalmatians" and "Mary Poppins" are from the Disney studios and "Return of the Jedi", "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Star Wars: Episode I-The Phantom Menace" merge with "Star Wars" on the list of top 25.

These are all some of the best films from all times. If you haven't seen them yet, you may not be able to find them at your neighborhood video store but you can now download the unabridged top quality films immediately to your computer from a decent and completely official movie download site. - 23806
