Heartland Reggae: Shoddy documentary of '78 show remembering a visit to Jamaica by Haile Selassie. The music makes it worth watching. Cast includes Bob Marley and the Wailers, Peter Tosh, and Althea and Donna. (87 minutes, 1980)
The Big Store: Large bummer for Marxes in a weak film of investigator Groucho examining crooked Dumbrille's variety store. The low spot is Martin's "The Tenement Symphony." Cast includes Charles Riesner, Groucho, Chico and Harpo Marx, Tony Martin, Virginia Grey, and Henry Armetta. (80 minutes, 1941)
The Talented Mr. Ripley: Tom Ripley dreams of the good life. He pretends to be the friend of a wealthy family's son to get a free trip to Europe. Once meeting Dickie and seeing the lifestyle he lives, he looks to stay as long as he can.
TRY or Rock: Neil Simon's supreme comedy of embarrassment, adjusted from Bruce Jay Friedman's small tale "A Change of Plan." Jewish boy Grodin gets wedded to Berlin and meets an attractive WASP blonde Shepherd on honeymoon, and determines to shuffle plans. Very comical but relies on your point of view; prompted for maximum impact by Might. The Cast includes Charles Grodin, Cybill Shepherd, Jeannie Berlin, Eddie Albert, and Audra Lindley. Bed Book and Candle: A John Van Druten play turns into so-so platform to showcase Novak as a sorceress who charms soon to be married Manhattan publisher Stewart. Kovacs and Gingold show off their comedic capabilities. Cast includes James Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon, Janice Rule, Ernie Kovacs, Hermione Gingold, and Elsa Lanchester. (103 minutes, 1958)
